Everyone does from time to time.

Q. What does all that mean in English?
A. It means you've been reading too much and not watching the fish.

You are my Guru.

OK. Keep it simple until you find you need the extras.
Start with bread and worms. Tie a #6 hook to the end of the reel line,
nothing else.

? No hook length or float?

If the fish are grubbing the bottom hook a worm by the middle and drop it
just in front of the fish. Don't scare it. Watch where the line cuts the
surface for signs of a bite.

If they are patrolling the surface or the extreme margins drop in half a
dozen or so breadcrusts close to the downwind banks where they will drift
hard into emergent or overhanging vegetation. Watch for signs of fish
taking them. Get into a position where you can -lower- a crust baited hook
into a similar position. Keep all the line off the surface but hold a foot
of loose line which you release to the fish if you get a take. As soon as
the loose line has gone strike and hold hard. It's wise to wear waterproof
clothing for this method.

This sounds an interesting method, I have never caught anything with
bread.
Bye.
