OK. Keep it simple until you find you need the extras.
Start with bread and worms. Tie a #6 hook to the end of the reel line,
nothing else.
? No hook length or float?

Just one knot, nothing to snag and no weakpoints.

This sounds an interesting method, I have never caught anything with
bread.

It's easily my most used bait. I sometimes go half a dozen trips without
taking any other bait.
