Default Sage historical query

In his video tapes on casting and strategies for selective trout made a
good few years ago, Doug Swisher describes a rod he is using at one point
as an 8ı6" five weight Graphite II rod. From the rodıs appearance and the
use of the term "Graphite II" I assume the rod to be a Sage.

My question: would this be the same as the 8ı6" five weight currently
marketed by Sage in the DS2 range, or is it a beast of a different taper?

Just curious, but Iıd very much appreciate any enlightened comments you
can give me.

TIA.

I believe the rod he was using was called the Sage Light Line Series II.
It was made of graphite II. They discontinued it and began making a
graphite III LL series. I, unfortunately, sold my 5 wt LLII and built a
LL III which unfortunately is, IMHO, not nearly as good a rod for my
casting style.
