When I received a complaint about a posting on a Usenet newsgroup
I would read a month or so of that newsgroup to get a feel for its
"ambience." If it was a rough and tumble place like roff, (some are
FAR more rough and tumble), I'd blow off most complaints with a form
letter. The things I NEVER blew off were direct threats of physical
violence. If Deep Fry were to complain to me about Chester and after
investigating I determined that Chester himself had actually posted
the threat Deep Fry was complaining about, Chester's account would be
gone so fast you wouldn't even see the vapor trail.
