not knowing who webster is i won't doubt you totally..but, it is a term
commonly used in scotland, i once saw where a bunch of lads were trying
to
rope a whale and hold it steady in a net for purposes of tagging, the
whale was
going crazy and the man who was directing the action was using the term
boys
and lads along with strings of other colourful language, so i wouldn't
totally
rely on what webster is sayin but roll up your sleeves go out in the world
and
take a look at everyday usage, btw i'm not being funny either.
