Default Depth Finder

Jerry Barton adjusted mine last spring at Dale Hollow and since then, I

never lost signal. Seems that I had mine mounted too low in the water.

The way it was explained to me, you only need it about 1/16 to 1/8 of an
inch below the hull. If you're mounting it on a step-up, then it's

probably
out of the water while you're on plane.

Thats what I figure too. Its either out of the water or getting hit with
very turbulent water when I'm running. Out here the depth sounder doesn't
do anything but scare you when you are up on step anyway. You have to keep
a sharp look out for sandbars, and never panic and let off the throttle when
you realize the water under you is too shallow to float at rest.
