I usually fish stick worms wacky style on lighter line. I have found I
really like the action on 12lb Seaguar CarbonPro. For smaller stick worms I
have to go to lighter line to get the right fall rate most of the time.

I have had such a hard time hooking fish on them rigged texas style that
almost never throw them t-rigged. I bet its been over a year since I threw
one that way.

Yesterday I decided to see if I could capitolize on them by putting one on
my flippin' stick and bringing it through some heavy growths of pencil
tulies. My only bite came as I pulled it clear of the weedline and let it
flutter down one more time. Rather than set the hook right away I let the
fish turn and I counted to three as I reeled down the slack. (much like
fishing a minnow) Then I layed into him like a ton of bricks. I was using
a Daiichi extra wide gap red hook. It caught him in the corner of the
mouth. I think again, if he hadn't turned I would have missed that fish.
In retrospect I think I really should fish those with cam action rotating
worm hook like the Tru-Turn or the Eagle Claw cam action. Now if I could
just find a z-bend, cam action, extra wide gap, red hook....
