Default the ones that got away............

I used to get in trouble with my wife because I had like total recall of
every fish I ever caught or lost. And even every fish whoever else was in
the boat with me hooked. I'd get into a fishing conversation with someone
and it would be, "Yeah, remember in May '82, when we went up to Champlain
and we were fishing by those two big rocks just south of town farm bay, and
you caught those two 5 pounders back to back on a 7/16 oz Stanley jig with
the all green pork frog on it, then I hooked and lost a fish about 7 on a
4" Purple DingALing Lizard that had one leg broken off, and we couldn't get
another bite after that, but as soon as we pulled off the spot, Arty and JJ
pulled up on it and JJ caught one about 6 with a White spinnerbait with one
copper and one nickel blade, and later wewent back and I got a 4 pounder on
a Chartreuse crawfish DB2 -- the one with the brown back, not the black
back -- and when I got it in there was a big nick in my line and..." On the
way home, my wife would ask me something like "Do you remember the
restaurant we stopped at on our way home from my cousin Bob's in Maine last
year?" and I would say "You have a cousin Bob? In Maine? Are you sure I
went with you?" Boy would I get in trouble for that.

But advancing years keep me out of trouble more often these days. I still
can't remember her cousin whasisname, but the details of an awful lot of
those fish are a lot fuzzier these days, too.
