Default Killer day on the Andy...

Hi Big Dale,
Heh . . .heh . . .we got them here. Not just in the numbers and sizes I
recall while living east of the Mississippi.
Heck, I'm told that once upon a time, the state record smallie came from a
lake about 9 minutes from my house. Now the record may be from Navajo
Reservoir. (haven't kept up)
Rules are so goofy around here though, where I live, that I can't even step
foot in some of the lakes . . .all shore fishing. Each little suburban city
has its own rules. Sometimes I can wade or tube, sometimes I can't.
When I get a tickle for bass, usually during runoff here in the Rockies, I
have a lake or two I go to for largemouth bass, where I can float tube
around. We do have the following types of bass in the state: largemouth,
smallmouth, white, striped, rock, wiper, spotted.
Didn't mean to mislead you. The record smallie here is around 21 inches.
Just have fond memories of tired arms and aggressive fish in another part of
the US. (uhh . . .still get that here when I pay attention to what is
important, and get out . . .grin . . .just different species.)
BestWishes,
Dave

Except for the Yampa on the West Slope, I don't think that we have any
in moving water. IMO, that's where Smallmouths really shine. Stream
Smallmouths are probably the ONLY thing I miss about living in central
Illinois.
