Mud Run feeds into the Lehigh River in Carbon County, Penna. The part
described flows through Hickory Run State Park.
I've seen Browns in the 20 inch class there (and my buddy caught one last
year) but haven't got one in myself.
How was the bug population this time of year? Were there rising fish?
Yeah, there are some big ones in some of the larger holes! I've seen them,
too. 8^)
There were some rises, and all the fish I caught were taken on tries. In
the evening, there were more rising fish.
There was a lot of insect activity, including little yellow stoneflies,
light cahills, and midges. I was catching fish on a light cahill, so stuck
with it and didn't need to try anything else.
