And I STILL say it's been happening for years. I made no claims as to the rate
of occurrence, but I'll just bet this happened at a slower but regular rate
prior to Sept. 2001 and the PA. The fact that it didn't happen to YOU doesn't
mean it only happened once (well, with Scott's episode we know it happened at
least twice). I'm guessing that the airline must have received some kind of tip
about a bag similar to my wife's, or they saw something suspect during the
x-ray, and took what they deemed to be acceptable measures. Oddly enough, my
wife didn't feel outraged when it happened. ;-)
