Not anymore in my experience. They (all?) have the mountain outline,
but they aren't all the familiar white-on-green. Many States are
putting out all sorts of school, organization, "cause," and other theme
plates, and it's getting harder and harder to "long-distance" recognize
them by color/style. Florida, again in my experience, seems to be the
most varied color-wise, with everything from plain white(ish) to
pastels, whereas Texas, albeit with LOTS of options, seems to prefer the
"white" reflective style, regardless of theme. Maybe something to do
with dual-plates-with-a-decal States???

There's a PA plate style that's almost impossible to read at any
distance, white letters on a busy, light background. Some are getting
very similar, with a lot of red, white, and blue themes for some
reason. All the CO plates I've seen were that green mountain on
white, IIRC.

Peter from Ontario where we've had the same style blue on white for
over three decades and the same style in black on white before that.

Don't feel too bad - the most oft-seen license plate in Florida is
Canadian...reminds me of a true story that ought to be a joke...

A young-ish man and an older woman are overheard, er, debating, with the
man stating his position that Quebecers are rude, pushy, arrogant
thieves, and, generally, Franco-phallic (yep, that intended...) royal
pains-in-the-asses. The woman, apparently a Quebecer, calls him a
nationalist uneducated redneck and asks what part of the "Etats Unis" .
he comes...."Montreal," he replies...
