When do you folks feel your pre-spawn generally starts ramping up? I'm
interested from a regional standpoint. I realize that this depends on a lot
of little items like weather trends and temps, just looking for generic
times.

There is quite a variation in the pre-spawn timing in my neck of the woods. Our General Gamefish
Season starts the first Saturday in May. There have been years when guys were still icefishing on
the lakes, the only open water was on the rivers. I remember other Opening Days where I was hot
wearing only a pair of shorts and sandals.

Typically, I'd say that mid to late May for pre-spawn, the bass season opens officially around my
birthday, June 19, otherwise it's strictly catch & release from the season opener until then. Last
year, Memorial Day weekend was awesome!
