Default Sad Day

Running in Saturday afternoon after a good day on the water we were
greated
by rain and very choppy water created from constant pleasure boat traffic.
Now usually it is not a problem seeing the wakes created by those boats

but
the combination of gray skies, along with the rain in my eyes and about
60mph ( I know , slow down) I didn't see a wake that was created by 2

boats
crossing and hit it wide open we ended only turning about 10 degrees but

it
was enough to launch 2 of my baitcasters overboard. One we found floating
(thank god graphite is so light ) and the other (a Lamiglass rod I tied up
with a 100B baby bantam) could not be recovered :-(. That is about a $230
lesson I learned.. SLOW DOWN!

Hey Chris,

Sorry to hear about your misfortune. I had to learn the same lesson before
I got smart. Take a look at http://www.ospreyproducts.com/rodbuckle.ivnu
and seriously consider buying a pair. Easy to install, they're worth their
price and I believe that you can get them at Gander Mountain.

Then......you don't have to slow down! ;-)
