Default I love the sound of a Hardy in the Morning - a little wordy

My mother, who is 77, had a hip replacement in the spring
and is getting a knee makeover in the fall. You're in the
business so you probably know this, but there is a new
and much less invasive & debilitating knee replacement
procedure being done that spares most of the muscle and
has people up and about much quicker.

Hmmm. Too late now but what might that be?
The wife had a new knee put in a week ago Tuesday and the doc said it
was basically the same as the other knee he did for her in '96. I had
hoped he might offer up some advanced hardware but only the surgical
procedures seemed to have changed - smaller incision, something he
called "bloodless surgery". Still had to cut away some muscle to fit
everything in - but she is recovering faster than the last time.

What other sort of knee replacement could have been done?
