I know polarized. but what else should I be looking for when replacing
my sunglasses? What color and brands are you using?

I need opinions/sugestions before spring gets here and the water gets
soft again.

Thanks,

Kurt

Depends whether or not you need prescription shades or not. If not, Coasta
Del Mar, Ray Ban, Oakley and others make very good polarized shades.

If you do, then price becomes an issues and you can look at your local Lens
Crafters store. I got some Ray Ban polarized shades there a month or so ago
and they weren't "that" badly priced. I think they came out to be a scosh
over $240 and are prescription, mirrored and polarized. Work great.

Prior to that I wore Oakleys, but their prescription offerings are few (with
polarization) and quite expensive for *just* the frames, not factoring in
the lenses.

My only basic advice would be to go with a reputable brand since the
likelihood of getting well shaped lenses with no or very little distortion
is greater. The $10 polarized shades at Wal Mart cost that little for a
reason...polarized, sure, but their optical clarity and distortion leaves a
lot to be desired.
