Default Fishless Trip Report

eastern nc was ablaze with hunter's orange for the opening. i put the
bay boat in at rose bay in hyde county and spent the day moseying around
the judith islands and great island. didn't see any dove, didn't hear
any gunfire, but the whisper ballet of the yellow butterflies dancing in
the air over the surface of the pamlico sound - rumored to be the siren
summons for red drum - made a splendid and memorable opening day for me.

we'll miss you in graham county this year. i was hoping rachel would get
a chance to meet you. ...another time, perhaps.

how's the kinky for guv thing going?

walk in the desert this morning.

As I was driving over to bass Pro to tie flies this morning I thought about how
cool it was this summer and this morning. I remembered that when I lived in the
Lubbock area for about a decade that opening weekend of dove season often found
me at a dove shoot in 104 degree weather. I doubt that the high even hit 90
today.
