BASS Survey
Joe
the additional pages could be to profile the subscribers in terms of their
usage of products in addition to the standard outdoor stuff. It is a pretty
common practice for a publication to offer advertisers a researched profile
of their readers so the advertisers can decide if there is a fit between
readership and the ads they plan to place in the mag.
Selling your info - that is specified in the pubs privacy policy. They might
rent the list so that advertisers can mail stuff to your address but the
magazine retains the detailed info. Granted they would like nothing better
than to rent their subscriber list constantly. Guess that's about the same
as selling the info in the end. Still prodces tons of direct mail pieces in
you mailbox.

Anybody else get this in the mail. "You have been selected to participate
in
a survey that will help us shape the future of Bass- Magazine Editorial,
Television, Conservation and Discounts."
The thing is 6 pages and 49 questions long. Only the first 2 are outdoors
related. The rest are Financial services, Pharmaceuticals, Food and
Beverage, Telecommunications, Apparel and "About You". Smells like they
are
planning on packaging and selling our info. Any other opinions? By the way
they enclosed a "BASS sticker as a token of appreciation". Joe Z.
