Default TR: Playing Hooky literally

I found my week ending early this afternoon near one of my favorite lakes
and I just happened to have my Randomizer Pontoon Boat with me along with
two 6-wt fly rods. I lined up my sinking line version, tied on a cronomid
with a prince nymph dropper. I launched and did a couple of oar strokes and
casted out the line towards shore (this is a VERY deep drop off lake) and
just as I was reeling up a bit of slack boom I had two fish on...landed them
both a 1 1/2 pound brown and a 14" cuttbow. I can't remember the last time
I hooked up two fish and landed them both, but I can assure you it is VERY
rare for me.

Anyway, the sky was overcast and no wind and not a sound anywhere, no rising
fish, nada. So I cast again towards shore and hooked another small brown
and lost him at the net and boy howdy did he ever mess up my dropper fly
rig. I had to cut it off and retie. Anyway, as I worked up the shore I
caught and released a dozen fish, nothing to brag about but I had fun. Now
for the really strange part -- there were absolutely NO other fisherman on
this lake and is was so silent is was really strange but nice. This lake is
close to Portland, OR metro area (admittedly this is around 1pm to 5pm on a
Friday). I had it to myself and I fished for about 4 hours or so. Just as
I was taking out a couple of guys showed up...I guess they have it all to
themselves now.

Now I have to explain to bugcaster why I didn't call him before I set to
fishin'. I actually put my new pontoon boat on the car to show it off to
one of my customers and strangely, for reasons I still ponder, I put my
rods, flies and accessories in the car as well?

Chris -- who cut short his fishing adventure to tap dance at a Sausage
Festival tonight. I also miss a fishing trip tomorrow cuz I have to dance
then as well. Quality time with the wife - priceless!
