I hear Bonito are particularly fun to catch, even at 2 pounds. Was that
Striped Marlin caught on a fly, btw? That looked like a *real* blast!

Ever hear of the hookless billfish lure? It's called a "Hurricane." It's
no more than the typical "squid clone" trolling lure, except that the skirt
is made of fine strands of nylon--like the stuff comprising soft nylon rope.
Because of the overlapping-plate construction of the fish's bill, like that
of a rhino, the fine strands are able to entangle the billfish when it comes
to strike the lure. From what I've heard, once the fish is brought
alongside the boat, it's no big deal to remove the lure. I don't know when
the Hurricane was invented, but I think I heard of it back in the mid-'80's.
It's like the perfect C&R lure for billfish--no blood let. Too bad there
isn't something as effective for trout fishing.
