The wife wants to spend a romantic day the Park. Should I bring the
4wt along? If so, where are some good spots? Any ideas are
appreciated. Thanks.
Uh, I hate to agree with Fortenberry but I think he's got the right
idea this time. Does your wife's idea of romance include a 4wt? I
guess that it's a possibility, but I'd wager that when your wife says
that whe wants to spend a "romantic day in the park" that she didn't
think that you'd be bringing along your fly rod...
Here's an idea for you: spend the day with your wife! Pay as much
attention to her as you would the water, your casting, mending, fly
selection, presentation and every other aspect of fly fishing. I'll
bet you dollars to doughnuts that she'd appreciate it more than you
might imagine. Share a giant pretzel. Stop by a playground area.
Sit on a bench. Get caught in the rain. Do *not* behave like you
wish you were fishing.
If you happen by a pond in the park and some guy is fly fishing, don't
even mention it. Don't even give him a second glance. Keep on
strollin' and talking to you wife--and not about fishing!

if my wife knew I was dispensing romantic advice she'd laugh out loud
The good news is that nothing in the above indicates......or even
hints......that you agree with Kennie about anything. Welcome to the human
race.
