I located The Fly Fisherman in Orlando. This is a well-stocked
store with lots of selection, and a tyers corner where the proprietor
shared his skill of steelhead flies[snip] I'd recommend this as
a stop to anyone from roff on a trip down this way.

I will second that suggestion. There's also a sister store on the Atlantic
coast. I've not been in there in several years but the one fly fishing
purchase I've always wish I had made was in the shop. They had a four piece
T&T Heritage 5 wt that I passed on and have never seen another either in a
shop nor on Ebay. I was a novice fly fisher at the time and the owner helped
me get some casting kinks out of the way when using big flies as I was
going SW fly fishing the next day. (weather wiped out those plans)
Sometime in the next few days I hope to make it to Bass Pro Shops.
I thought you were doing a tour of flyshops?
If you have time, you ought to look up John Kumiski, he's a former teacher
and a great guide out of the Orlando area. He runs folks down the no motor
area near Canveral and guides folks out of a canoe. Baby tarpon, snook,
redfish and watching the manistees.
