What do you throw for bass in gin clear water?
With the storms up river that not something we had to deal with last
weekend, but what baits would you use in gin clear water for bass, and
what time of day would you think would be best.
I think morning with clear low profile topwaters, with a clear or very
natural jerk bait as a follow up. Then drop shots and/or finnesse worms
later in the day. An occassional natural style crank bait for variety.
Maybe an 1/8 oz spinner bait in green white or grey white colored
trailer with prizmatic willow blades.

Bob, I love clear water....early, early morning I throw a top water as
you suggest, as the sun comes up, I switch to my favorite "worm"
assortment...with various presentations until I find what works. But
dropshotting is my preference now days since the kid converted me on my
last trip out west .
As you know, I use to fish the Colorado alot, and the back lakes were
often clear. Some of my best fish came off early morning worm selections
(almost translucent)...mostly weightless, finesse type presentations.
But I am kinda stuck in my ways, so other than these methods, I am
probably ignorant .
