Default Some Pix

God, I hate it when the drive crashes!! Remember the days when we were
advised to always back up our disks on the HD? Seems like the word is now to
always back up your HD on disk!

I still can't figure out why it crashed and that really annoys me. For
some reason it said the drive was formatted as RAW and I couldn't access
anything on it. This didn't happen because of a virus or anything else
that I could identify either. I tried several programs from quite a
number of vendors that claimed their product could retrieve lost data
from hard drives even if there was some sort of mechanical failure in
the HD itself. After about a month of trying a bunch of them, I finally
found one that could and I was able to retrieve all of the data from the
hard drive. If you ever need such a program, I recommend GetDataBack
from http://www.runtime.org/ Well worth the cost ($79) IMHO.

Since this last fiasco I am not only backing up everything to another
HD, but also to CD. It has kind of been a pain in the ass organizing
all of my pics, but I broke them down into categories like 2002, 2003,
2004, Conclaves, etc and then created a sub folder in each with the date
that I downloaded the pics or an easily identifiable name (I.e. Western
Clave 2004). You can never have too many backups.....
