Oh, BTW ... "Afternoon Delight".

Make the voices stop!!!

"Feeeeeeeeeeelings wo wo wo feelings
trying to forget my feelings of love..."

Try whistling the tune to either "The Andy Williams Show" "Bridge Over The
River Kwai" or for a real earworm, "If I Only Had A Brain"!!

BTW: One of my river songs is definately "Black Water" by the Doobies. Once,
while running a totally flooded river in Maine (the Dead at something like
35,000 cfs....a record) with a boatload of passengers and a support kayak, I
was so nervous that I started singing that song to calm myself. Pat, the
support yakker, was also a bit spooked, so he joined in with the
countermelody. When we got into the big rapid, he and I were too separated
to hear each other, but I just kept singing loudly as I got totally battered
and rock-and-rolled in one monsterous wave after another. When I came out
the bottom, Pat was just emerging from his particular route, still singing
on the same beat in perfect countermelody. We ended up repeating this feat
the next year in Lava Falls in the Grand Canyon...still in perfect timing.
I think of those two moments a lot when I find myself missing that energy
and camaderie of youth and whitewater, old friends and familiar exotic
places.
