it is as sensitive as real cork rings though.

Well, let's say, I've never seen a cork handle done any other way. If

is, I'd like to see it.
Lots of cork tape handle rods. Not rings but a long strip of cork that is
spiral wrapped on the handle. My sal****er iron chucking stick is this way.
No rings on mine as I use a reel clamp.
