whole thing is pressed from cork dust ... (one piece, no rings). I doubt
it is as sensitive as real cork rings though.

Lots of cork tape handle rods. Not rings but a long strip of cork that is
spiral wrapped on the handle. My sal****er iron chucking stick is this way.
No rings on mine as I use a reel clamp.
