It's difficult to forecast from anecdotal material. The polls have Bush
ahead of Kerry here in Missouri. But I see many more Kerry/Edwards bumper
than Bush/Cheney stickers, and Kerry had a larger crowd at the airport this
afternoon than did Bush. I think GB's support is broad but soft, and Kerry's
support is intense.
That's St Louis. Outstate could be different. There are lots of people like
the farmer I met a while back while doing a Trout Unlimited project. He was
absolutely convinced that Air Force and Navy jets caused the sinkholes on
his property. I figure he's a Bush voter.
