location and direction of those stress cracks are important. I believe

was Pat Goff that told us once upon a time (a few years ago) that Stress
cracks behind the seats are a good indication of the hull being cracked
as
well, and that cracks running up and down are bad, while cracks running

length wise are usually just minor gelcoat cracks.
