Here's a couple of pics of the dam (weir) taken when Greg, of Pavlov
fame, and I had a go one winter's day.

Each photo shows about half of the dam. There's a line of rocks going
across the river, about 75' from the base of the dam. Picture that
row of rocks encrusted with a gazillion anglers.

That's why I prefer a challenge and fish the flat water downstream.
