Just today I learned that a local fisherman has won the world casting
championship.

Course he was not fly fishing but using a 14foot 8inch rod he built
himself, and a 5oz sinker. Next time I see him I will ask if he uses a
strike indicator?

hell, joe, he wasn't casting--he was lifting weights.
