Default Snowshoes or XC Skis ?

I guess there isn' really a question as to which mode of transportation but
I will say that I use an original pair of Sherpa snowshoes because the
original binding system allows me to strap on over my wading boots for
longer approaches to the river. The binding system and platform area of the
shoes don't freeze up. The instep crampons give a confident traction too!

Good luck!

It's time to start thinking about the next fishing trip.
Minnesota's winter trout season (C&R, barbless only) opens
Saturday January 1 and I've got a valid Minnesota license
and a Minnesota State Parks Pass on the windshield. Hmm...
I'm starting to smell a plan. ;-)

I couldn't plan to miss the Rose Bowl, so I'll have to be
snug in front of my fireplace in Urbana on New Years Day
making Sunday January 2 the travel day, probably to Winona.
Winona's a few minutes away from Whitewater State Park but
reference the moo goo gai pan theory. ;-)

Sounds like winter fishing on Trout Run Creek and the
Whitewater River in the State Park on Monday & Tuesday
January 3 & 4. An absolutely insane plan with a much better
chance of frostbite than actually catching a trout. Perfect,
I can hardly wait. ;-)
