Default Engine-mounting an Electric trolling motor

We just rigged one on a big pontoon boat, the thing works best on a big
sterndrive, the outboard lower unit is almost too shallow, and it cavitates
pretty easily.

There are also the Lenco units that attach to a set of trim tabs, fairly
common on the coast, something to look at also if your rig could use tabs
for performance.

I've seen *special* trolling motors mounted on outboards, but never

standard
ones.

A lot of the striper guides around here use one that mounts to the lower

unit
of the outboard. You steer it with the steering wheel , only cable is

power -
works great in open water for stripers but I would not want one on a bass

boat.
