Thanks for the downsizing. That brings back memories. It was my old
stomping grounds. I lived about ten minutes away from Lake George and
fished the canyon alot. The section near the dam would have midge
hatches throughout the Winter.
That's a cool section of river. I had some strange catches in that
stretch of river. One Spring, I was deep drifting nymphs up by the dam
and caught a Laker of about 5 or 6 pounds. One Spring, 11 Mile Res
overflowed and it washed a bunch of big Pike into the river. I caught
several about 10 pounds and one close to twenty. VERY cool chasing a
Pike like that up and down the river. Talk about sight fishing, it was
like spotting submarines in the water. They were in small groups, I
think they were trying to spawn. You pick out the biggest fish and
through a big fly at it. Luckily they weren't able to survive in the
river. It was fun though.
