Try going to tools accounts and deleting all the accounts - Mail and News.
Reboot. Use your Windows explorer go to the PROGRAM FILES subdirectory. Look
for the outlook express folder it should contain a subfolder with all your
news groups listed, delete all newsgroups only, nothing else. Then recreate
the accounts again before you go online. That should fix it.

Can someone one suggest another method of connecting to news group

Hi Bill- Where to start? It first started by me loosing NG's for
several hours but would always return. Next I lost email, some times
for days at a time.I always figured it was my ISP but support said
no.Next I lost all NG's and got an error message" 480 auth. required
".Checked with my ISP and all of my setting for mail were correct.Next
e mail went south and again my ISP said "It's not us".and setting
were correct.Adelphia support took me to links to fix OE on Yahoo but
it was like ****ing into the wind .
