I agree, a heavy action rod need not be heavy. I have a Shimano Chronarch
SuperFree on a 7'6" flippin stick that is very lightweight. It was built on
a St. Croix Legend Elite blank and really does the job nicely.
It's light enough to flip with all day, can cast/pitch an unweighted Zoom
Fluke (or similar lure) a long way and recently had enough backbone to whip
up on a 41" muskie.
