Just a thought (and rhetorical question), but does anyone think it
possible that any given Hmong, refugee or otherwise, is just as capable
of going plain ol' fashioned crazy as real people...you know, white
folks? I mean, they're sorta like real people, so I seems they'd have
about the same ratio of sane and crazy folks in their population as real
people...you know, simple farmers and people of the land...

And as to the gun itself, the standard "import"/"civilian" gun most
commonly has a fixed 10-round magazine, although there were a relative
few of a detachable-magazine model imported. If it had a 20-round
"banana clip," SOMEONE purposefully increased the capacity. As to the
gun, it was designed as an assault rifle in an assault rifle chambering
and the "civilian" models imported into the US are generally
medium-quality and in caliber suitable for shorter-range hunting. I
know no one who has one as a deer rifle, but I know plenty of folks who
have them as "ranch guns" (to be jostled around in ranch trucks,
strapped to ATVs, in horse scabbards, etc.) because they are cheapish
but fairly accurate and operationally dirt- and grime-resistant. If
this guy really had planned to hunt humans, he _could_ have picked a
much better choice for not significantly more money.
