club T idea
I fish (& dominate) a 20 yo club with 20 yo traditions. I've trying to get
some of the other oldtimers to pick it up a notch - here's my latest
harebrained idea:
This would be for an informal tournament, in addition to our 8 event season
here in NH. Here's the post I sent out:
Something along the lines of:
a.. draw partners, blast-off.
b.. three or so "weigh-ins" during the day, where the developing patterns
are presented, along with the weight and numbers of fish caught.
c.. pattern variables would include depth, speed, cover/structure/bait
present, etc.
d.. after "weigh-in", teams would go and try to utilize the pattern info
from the others.
e.. the winning team is that which recognized the prevailing pattern, ie
that which produced the greatest total weight.
f.. second place for the pattern yielding the heaviest average weight of
individual bass caught.
I can make up some plastic boards to keep the recording consistent and
simple. I used to use something like this when I kept a daily log.
Rather than competing for a few bites, limited fish and some free beer
(-Hey Bruce, where's our beer from last year?!?) It might be fun to see how
many bass we can dredge out of the lake as a cooperative group. Pretty much
a learning-T, possibly we can switch partners at each "Weigh-in" too? Maybe
there will be free beer this time though...
Any one ever try this with their group? Recommend changes?
Thanks,
Eric
