The South Fork of the Boise has some BIG rainbows. You have to time it
right to avoid high water from the discharge from Anderson Ranch Dam.
It's the only river I've ever fished where the Pink Albert was the go-to
dry fly (mid summer).

I've heard that the river above the dam is also good, but I've never
tried it. It's on my ever-expanding list.

BTW, I'm not "local" to Boise. Boise is 120 miles and 2 1/2 hours away,
in good weather. The only homebrew store in Boise recently went out of
business, so I have little reason to travel there, except to buy guns. :-)
