I have as yet found nothing older than Courtney Williams book pattern.

I got this from Courtney Williams book.

Body : Lead-coloured fur, ribbed with yellow silk

Hackle : Ginger cock's hackle

Whisks : same as hackle

Hook : 14 to 16

It is also sometimes tied with pale starling wings, well forward.
