I know (and have met) quite a few professional
anglers, people in the televsion industry and some VERY dedicated amatuers.
Not one has ever told me that I should be using one of your inventions.
Certain soft plastics, crankbaits, hooks and line have been recommended, but
not once has your name come up.

I'm still new in this Chris, but My products have made "EVERY" fishing
magazine , don't you ever read them ? You will be reading about them in
hard back books soon, as I have already done the interviews with the
Authors, while I demo stated the new techniques I have invented.

Well I guess you don't follow any of the Old guys in fishing, Bill Dance,
Hank Parker, Ray Scott, and Al Linder, even old Roland Martin
uses my stuff.

some well known fishermen, them using the old way, and me my new way, it
did not mean I was a better fisherman, I was just doing things they could

When I first brought out a new product a few on here did everything to
riddicule it,, and as I brought out more, they kept attacking me,, i
defended myself and my products, as these so call know it alls didn't and
don't have a clue about the use of them. When I can on here sharing the
fish caught with them,, again I was attacked as being a spammer, what I
was trying to do is open up a new world of fishing, but a few on here ,
thought because they didn't know how to use them , they were not worth
using, because "they" were not the experts in these new techniques, they
would slam them, Warren was the worst. hecoudl not stand the thought of
some teenager that could piuck up one of my rigs could beat him not using
one.

The only reason I keep bringing this up is Warren and others have called
me a con artist, that when I offer to prove to them, that my stuff does as

attend one of the functions that this group hosts and put your money where

My attitude on this list has nothing to do with my general attatude, or
the way I am,, here I am on the defence at all times, in the real world ,
where I deal one on one with people, that is not nessasary, as I can back
up every claim about my inventions, just by showing them.

do with how you are received on this group. There are ways of calling

When the first pro's started drop shotting, they started dominating,
untill others started fishing the same way, not that they were better
fishermen, just they were using a new technique that dominated certain
fishing condistions, Now with one of my rigs it takes this much further
than just clear deep water, it works at all deths, and the muddyer the
water the better.

I'd be willing to bet that plenty of dropshotters had their
butts kicked by guys throwing spinnerbaits, crankbaits, worms, jigs and
other standard rigging methods. It's just that the wins with the new method
got press, winning with a spinnerbait was old news by the time dropshotting
came on the scene. No one technique is THE ANSWER, successful anglers know
this and recognize when to adjust their tactics.

I never said mine was for all conditions, just for working plastics
,instead of Texas, Drop Shot or Caroline rigging

angler is going to do well on occasion, when all the conditions are ripe for
them. Even a blind squirrel finds an acorn once in a while. What you imply
in your messages is that anyone that isn't using your inventions is an
idiot. That's not the case.

Let's look at fish holding in the rocks, my Rock Hopper lets fishermen
fish their soft plastics right through those rocks, crawling right over
them, this works better than dragging a crank bait through them, or even a
spinner bait, so a person using that weight, has the advantage, even if he
is a less skilled fisherman.

fish is going to take a fast moving, reaction bait than one crawled on the
bottom. Again, it depends on conditions at the time.

Yes but now you have only one way, for one condistion, instead of adding
another, when the conditions change,, you can't crawl them rocks with
anything in your box, DAAAH !


You do like to Streach what has been stated by me,, the fishing "weight"
industry is not that large, and less than 5% of it are serious bass
fishermen wanting to carolina or texas rig rocks. My wiggle rig is for
those wanting to catch much bigger fish, and have the patence to learn how
to manipulate their lures
I have taken the action of a lure from the manufacturer, and placed it
into the hands of the fisherman,, this has never been done before.

If you know much about the way big bass eat,, yes you will catch more
HOGS on my rig, because it is fished so much slower (it stays in one
spot), allowing fish to ease over to it. Big bass don't chase stuff,
they either ambush it, or they mosey over to an injured fish bait or
lure (you drag it very close to them, yes they will lunge a fast moving
bait, but you got to drag it real close)

I will not hurt any of the lure buisness, as you must use lures to use my
rigs

It is the "technique" a lure is fished that either catches them or don't,
now with everyone using the same rig, the best technique with that rig
wins, I have just come up with better techniques, that require a "product"
to be used

I will agree that you have made some interesting inventions, some that might
even be productive. But the fact is Rodney, other than in a Clearance Bin,
I have never seen your products for sale in my area.


Your right,, distribution has been a problem with the companies I have
signed with in the past. This is changing this year, on most of my stuff


I have never had any
of the people in the fishing industry tell me that I really need to get any
of your products because they're really great, and while I've had clients
show up with their Banjo Minnows, Helicopter Lures and other assorted snake
oil type products, I've never had a client show me one of your inventions
that they've purchased. I've never seen a tournament pro on any of the
televised events come up on stage and thank Rodney Long for helping them win
first prize.

You will when we are able, or willing to pay them, the amount they want
to say it.

My Health won't let me fish more than a couple of hours at a time, I
have a very enlarged heart, I hope that they will find a cure soon as
they just yesterday said they found a drug that reverses this in mice,
they hope the clinical trials will start soon, before I was told only a
transplant would help me.

I tell you what, I will send you FREE, my stuff, and if after you try
them, you say they are crap,, OK,, now with the wiggle rig I do ask you
at least spend a few min. in shallow water where you can watch your
lure, and practice, just so you know what rod tip action does what
action to each lure, in other words don't just wildly shake your rod and
expect to catch fish, use your imagination a bit, and you can make a
soft plastic do nearly anything.

The Roch Hopper, fish it in the worst stuff you can find,, yes you
"could" loose one, or two a day, but that's better than hanging on every
cast. We have found that it catches more bass when rigged right up
against the plastic, but it does as well (catches as many) as any other
weight rigged Carolina.
