Default Penns Creek and a Sinking Tip

I'm considering having a reel or a spool loaded with a sinking tip
and ready to fish places like Penns Creek. I ask because I know that
getting down deep with a good streamer or bugger can bring out the big
ones. I hooked a very large brown above the bridge near Coburn a while
back. I am hoping to do more of the same. I'd keep the reel in my
vest.

So, the question is, is having a reel/spool loaded with a sinking tip
worth the hassle for places like Penns? Or maybe I should have one
for lakes and deeper water and Penns.

Is it worth the hassle or can I "get down" with a floating line in
"Penns-like-situations" and expect a good success rate.
Thanks in advance for your advice.
