Default Almost Threw 1st Place Away

I fished the Yuma Rod & Gun Club bass derby yesterday. It was tough for me
on the river. I only got five bites all day long. I did put all five of them
in the boat, but only 2 were keepers.

On the way in I seriously considered pitching my fish and just going to see
what everybody else did. Since it was the first time I have fished with Rod
and Gun I went on and weighed my fish. Turns out everybody else had a tough
day too. In fact only one other angler weighed in 2 fish. Everybody else had
one or none. I never would have thought in a million years I would win a
competition with 2 fish for 3.68 pounds.

I was really expecting to see some bigger bags and bigger fish. The day
before in the Desert Bass tournament I skipped because I had not bought my
license yet there were several limits, and 2 toads brought to the scale. One
over 7 and one over 8.

Wow! Cool deal. Heck the only reason I considered even fishing it is because
Lannes Brock is running all the Yuma Rod & Gun bass events this year, and I
wanted to support my friend.
