Default Weekly Maryland Fishing Report Chesapeake Bay, Inshore and Offshore

Maryland Fishing Reports sponsored by Solomon's Charter Captain's
Association The first full week of the 2011 Maryland trophy rockfish
season is logged in the record books. Opening day Saturday was wet,
windy and wild with a gale warning. Despite the weather a few anglers
did venture out and managed to get their limit. In fact the first
three places of the annual Boatyard Bar and Grill Striped Bass
Tournament were caught on opening day. For full results check out this
report. By Sunday the weather settled down a bit allowing for more
anglers to get out and hit the water. Anglers were rewarded with mixed
results, some guys managing to get their limit, while others managed a
few fish. As the week has progressed fishing success from the Bay
Bridge South to Maryland line improved with most charters and
recreational anglers reporting success using tandem rigs with any
combination of colors. This weekend's reports have been good so far
with most getting the limits. (pictured is Tidal Fisher runnin late
(aka Dave) and his son with some nice stripers they caught fishing out
of the Magothy River. Check their full fishing report with fishing
