Northern Calif. Coast. I love spear fishing but the "live fisherman" put a
dent in the reef areas. It is coming back, and we get nice Ling Cod and
Capezone too.
Not as big as your cobia, but real nice sizes.
Abalone season is open now......3 is the limit, and the size is 7"

I do have an abalone ash tray that's been in the family ever since my
granny went to Spain back in the 1940's
