Mmmm, interesting Phil, this was in mid-afternoon, bright sunny day as
well., cheers,

Seen two very samll congers attacking a piece of discarded macky on the
surface at Ogmore deeps on a nice sunny day!

Seen the normal eels on the surface at Barry Dock, as well as a Thornback
ray, small Angler fish, also seen a large(ish) turbot(??) about 4' from

the
surface!

Wondering what it was I seen yesterday in a small harbour just South

of
Dublin:- around 18 inches long, eel-shaped fish swimming along at

the
surface(surely couldn't be an eel...?), would've sworn it was a

grass
snake
if it had been a few dozen miles further East;0) Any ideas...?

I have seen eels swimming on thje surface on a few occasions, even

small
conger swim on the surface!

So it could be an eel!
