The Homestead Resort home page references Trout Fishing as being
available. Has anyone had any experience with the area? Looking for
a sept. outing. Bill McDonald

Bill:

I have not fished it, but I did walk the trail one time, and yes, it looks
like very nice water. There were a few folks fishing that day (2) and they
said the fishing was tough. We were ther in the fall (October), and it was
beautiful. There is a bridge over the stream at the bottom access that is
full of huge, uncatchable, trout that are fed bread scraps by the guests. (I
guess a bread scrap fly might manage to catch one, but I think fishing in
that pool is discouraged anyway). I have heard from a number of folks
familiar with the fishery that it can be very good. As I recall, it is
totally private, so pressure should be rather low. The fellow that used to
run the FFing operation was named "Beaver", and when I talked to him he
seemed both knowledgeable and freindly. May be worth a call.
