Hi guys, Just thought I'd mention the weather here lately.
I live in Browning, approx. 40 miles away and it has been quite chilly lately, down to low 40s even some high 30s at night. The mountains received a dusting of snow the other day. The weather report shows a warming trend coming in for the first part of the week, next week but I haven't heard about next weekend. Come prepared for some cool to cold weather and you should be ok. Can't wait to meet all and give the Pike a try. Have fun, George |

The turn in the weather and some cooling will bring the pike in to feed for the winter. I just checked the website for the water levels, http://www.usbr.gov/gp/hydromet/sher.htm The water has been going down about half a foot a day for a month or more, but yesterday it went up half a foot. The cooler weather probably reduced irrigation demands, keeping more water in the lake. Today would probably be a great day to fish, tomorrow too. I also called the park to see about the Many Glacier campground, and the possibility of crowding. They said they haven't been filling for the last couple weeks, but they might get more locals for the holiday weekend. If anybody makes it there before Noon or so on Saturday when I expect to get there, check for a ROFF sign on the bulletin board, and if it's not there, pick a set of three spots together and tell us which ones they are on the sign you put up. See you there, Chas Chas remove fly fish to reply http://home.comcast.net/~chas.wade/w...ome.html-.html San Juan Pictures at: http://home.comcast.net/~chasepike/wsb/index.html |
