I'm about to terminate my AOL account, but I really like the way it handles
newsgroups, with a 'favorites' list, filtering out ceratin words or posters,
etc.
I'd like to find a newsgroup reader that offers similar functions.
Can anyone advise me here?

If you want to keep your replies off the group, please email me at the address
below.

Thanks!

Just remove the spaces, fix the last part, and so on.

Just use the standard outlook express for your news reader.

I use MS Office on my PC so I use Outlook for my mail and Outlook express
for my news.

I've been using Agent for years. It really is a great piece
of software, with a near-perfect killfile system.

I am currently testing out Agent to see if I like it better than the
Outlook Newsreader. I am on day 2 of my trial period and so far I am
happy with it, but not yet swayed one way or the other. We'll see how
it performs when I hit some of the binary groups hard...

What I didn't like about Agent was having to open the pictures after
downloading them. In Outlook Express, I just use the preview pane, and it's
a piece of cake.

I hear alot of bad things about Outlook Express concerning security, but
since I have nothing to hide... I could care less.

I am using Mozilla 1.4 for my browser, email, and news. It's easy to
use, has all the features I like, and tab browsing rules! If you
constantly open new windows when following links, Mozilla offers the
option of opening the link in another "tab" in the same window, or
opening a new window. I thought it was just a cute gimmick when I got
it, but now I'm hooked. I hate it when I'm on another machine without
it. Also, it's FREE! I love free! If you're interested, go to
