The Connecticut DEP plans to distribute a coastal recreation access survey
to interested persons. The purpose of this survey is to better understand the public's coastal recreation needs and to better assess demand for the recreational uses along Connecticut's coast including: bird/wildlife observation, fishing, shellfishing, crabbing, hunting, hiking, and boating (including canoeing/kayaking). The CT-DEP has developed three surveys to target specific interest groups. These surveys are differentiated as follows: 1) Sal****er Angling and Waterfowl Hunting, 2) Coastal Boating, 3) Wildlife Observation. The data obtained from these surveys will be used to help identify and prioritize land acquisitions that meet the identified needs, and to promote recreational facility improvements along the coast. Please contact the CT-DEP Office of Long Island Sound Programs if you would be interested in completing one of the above surveys. You can call 860-424-3034 to request a survey or email Susan Fox at to request a survey. In addition to receiving the survey, we will also mail you a copy of the CT-Coastal Access Guide. We appreciate your help!
