Hi Kev looks like this year is going to be poor for Codling but it's still a bit early to tell yet, the "RAT HOUSE CORNER" is on the small "stump" of a pier in the river mouth Roker Pier is the pier with the large lighthouse ,the other large pier being the South pier. If the sea gets away the best place on Roker pier is the "barrier" about 3 or 4 hundred yards up the pier fishing the outside but unfortunatly they lock the gates if the sea gets too rough now. i would suggest that you fish somewhere between Whitburn and Marsden on the rocks as that is the best place for Codling at this time of year. but as with all rock fishing fishing exteme care is needed especially at night and unfortunatly night is almost always best good luck Marty |
